Chiropractic care in Surprise, AZ
Your health history, the way you move and the activities that matter to you all belong in the conversation about care. At Van Metre Chiropractic, we take an individual approach to understanding what brings you in.
Call to plan your visitStart with your story
A useful starting point is a clear account of what you are experiencing: when it began, what seems to change it and how it affects everyday life. Bring your questions, previous diagnoses and relevant health information to the discussion. You do not need to choose a treatment before contacting the office.
Your consultation and physical examination help our doctors understand your condition. When clinically indicated, our on-site digital X-ray facility provides additional information about the spine, extremities or other joints. The images are considered alongside your history and examination when developing an individualized treatment plan.
Specific techniques, with room for your preferences
Dr. Kirk Van Metre is trained in the Gonstead chiropractic technique and can use instrument-assisted adjusting when appropriate. These are approaches to discuss with your doctor, together with your symptoms, preferences and concerns.
If you have questions about how an adjustment is performed, ask the doctor to explain the proposed approach before proceeding. You can also ask why a particular option is being considered, what alternatives are available and how the plan relates to your goals.
Comfort when changing position
Getting onto a traditional treatment table can be a concern for some patients. Our office has a Hi-Lo table that moves from a standing position to a lying position and back again. Let the team know if changing position is difficult for you so you can discuss your needs before your visit.
Experience with a personal connection
For nearly three decades, Van Metre Chiropractic has cared for patients in the Surprise area. Our two chiropractors, two massage therapists and office staff bring a combined 80 years of chiropractic experience. Dr. Kirk's own experience as a chiropractic patient began after a 1992 water-skiing injury at SeaWorld and helped shape his decision to enter the profession. Meet Dr. Kirk Van Metre.
